Countdown

A quick “title animation” I did for a friend a couple of weeks back.
I was supposed to, and wanted to, help him out with a few more graphics animation needs.. but due to schoolwork I have yet to find the time to do that.
Anyway, the reason I’m posting this now is because he has finally finished editing the film, and has released it. Click link below to watch.
Countdown
To be honest, I’m not usually a fan of his productions, partly due to my natural dislike for amateur films. However this time, I think he’s done an exceptional job. Still not professional quality, of course, but worthy enough to be posted on my blog.
Misc WinXP Commands
if you read the About page, you’ll see that part of this page is a dumping ground for me. This post is one of them, for my personal reference.

Complete GeoShell Tutorial Now Public
Just a quick newsflash:
My (90%) Complete GeoShell Tutorial was previously restricted to the linked forum registered members only. I’ve fixed this, and now anyone should be able to view it.
Grid Wars 2
This is an amazing game. Very simple, yet tons of fun. Small download, grab it and give it a shot!
update:
- I recently learnt that the creator got a cease or desist letter for Grid Wars 1, and as such I have decided to no longer provide the direct link to the download, so as to avoid it from becoming too easily accessible and suffering the same fate as its predecessor. The game can still be downloaded from the page linked above (it’s kinda hidden, but still quite obvious).
- In case you didn’t know, Grid Wars is a clone of a hidden game for the xbox, known as Geometry Wars.
Note: It seems that the default control settings is set to “Dual Analog”. I believe most people would be using a keyboard, so to change this,
- press esc
- go to settings
- change controls to Keyboard
- config keys to see the keys
By default, the keyboard keys are
- W,S,A,D to move
- Space to bomb
- up, down, left, right arrow keys to select which direction to shoot
Maxmem: Keep your Memory Free!
http://www.analogx.com/CONTENTS/download/system/maxmem.htm
Wow, this is a great memory manager. Was talking to a friend about how with running Protopage in the background explorer eats up to 80,000K memory, and he told me his explorer only ate 19,000K. However, it wasn’t all the active desktop’s fault, because Joe then mentions that he’s trying out this new program his roommate found – Maxmem.
I didn’t think it’ll make much of a difference, but I gave it a shot anyway. Wow, brought explorer memory usage from 80,000K down to 50,000K!
Desktop: 15 Oct 06 (prototype)
Areao4 VS + Protopage = Sexy Simplicity.
This morning, I switched on my computer and it booted into Windows as normal. Then, Windows shut down on its own. It never booted back up.
Luckily, a simple Windows reinstall worked. However, my desktop was looking ugly with the default WinXP crayola theme. Quickly browsed DeviantArt for a VS to use, found Areao4. Remembered seeing someone on GeoShell.org use Protopage, so decided to get one for myself. 1 hour and 30 minutes later, I’m loving my desktop.
Unfortunately, I’m extremely behind time with my work, so I haven’t gotten to fully explore and setup my Protopage. Will get done with it and post links Wednesday evening, after my exam.
