Dan’s Top 3 Most Annoying Emoticons
This came up in a conversation yesterday.
Here’s my list of the top 3 most annoying emoticons ever to be used against me.
Number Three
XD and XP
No matter how I try, I can’t picture anyone looking like this. This is just plain retarded. Heck, even retarded kids don’t look so stupid. Plus, I keep reading XP as ‘XP’ as in ‘Windows XP’. Oh man, now everytime I see a Windows XP logo I’m going to think of this retarded emoticon.
Number Two
=PpPp
I don’t think anyone uses this anymore, but I got quite a few of these back in the day. What is it, anyway? Super-multiple-chin-mutant?
Number ONE
(: and other upside down freaks
Why go through the trouble of trying to type stuff upside down? Why put me through the pain of having to decipher it?!
(as a bonus random fun fact, ‘!?’ is called an Interrobang.)

PLOG 02-02: Soldering
Just a quick update.
We received our LEDs this Wednesday. About $90 (per person) worth of them.
Spent about 6 to 8 hours in the lab on Friday (yes, on Friday) just having fun straigtening wires and soldering about 64 to 70 connections. And that’s only 1/4 of the soldering done.
Accidentally bent one of the columns.
Note to self: if it doesn’t fit too well into the breadboard, don’t force it.
PLOG 02-01: Row/Column Scanning
Did a couple of tests to see if I got the row/column scanning concept right.
The basic idea of the scanning is to address each LED by row/column, and switch between them real quick.
Here are a few pictures of the latest test, taken by my powerful webcam. In this test I made a 4×4 LED matrix (well, I’m missing 2 LEDs), and lit up an ‘X’ .
