GLOG01: Neverwinter Nights 2 Halted
I mentioned in my previous post that these Gaming Logs was just something that I was going to try out. Unfortunately, I think I’m going to stop doing this, at least for Neverwinter Nights 2, for a couple of reasons.
- It’s too much trouble. It worked fine all the way up till recently, because we had been playing in short 1-2 hours sessions. Our last session, however, was like 5 hours. It’s a pain to recount even the main plot elements.
- If indeed I do stop playing a game without completing it, and pick it up again in the future, I’d prefer to replay it from the start. For games that I’m willing to pick up again in the future, I would prefer to play through again from the start and get the full experience at one go.
Yep, so I’m going to stop doing a log for our Neverwinter Nights 2 adventures.
NWN2: Fort Locke Graveyards, Elanee, and Highcliff Problems
Made quite a bit of progress today. First of all, we took care of that final group of bandits, and then freed the people that they had kidnapped. Next on the list was to investigate the graveyards east of Fort Locke, where Commander Tann had gone missing. After fighting our way past zombies and skeletons and through a crypt, we dealt with a necromancer, and found Commander Tann being held captive. The necromancer was the one raising the undead, so we killed him. Commander Tann requested that we help find his other men, and we did, although one of them was already dead. Back at Fort Locke, the temp commander thought he’s all boss and tried to get rid of Tann, but we killed him and his men. Hey, he attacked first! Read the rest of this entry »
NWN2: Encounter at the Willow Inn, and Bandits
Aye so after leaving West Harbor, our first stop was the Weeping Willow Inn. Outside, we see a dwarf picking a fight with 3 humans. We tried to break it up, but the dwarf wanted to fight. So we fought too, then stepped inside for a drink and some chatter. He introduced himself as Khelgar Ironfist, and he’s on his way to Neverwinter to become a monk because monks do nothing but fight (or so he thinks).
Halfway through our conversation, the guys from back at West Harbor showed up, in search of the “Kalach-cha”. Apparently that’s the name of the silver thing we got, I think. We make quick work of them and clear them from the inn, gaining some coin from a grateful wife in the process.
Continuing on our quest, Khelgar wants to join us and we accept. We also stopped by a cave just to kill some lizardlings and steal their stuff. Oh, and I finally found out how to call out my animal companion, so now we have my trusty hog, MeteorMeat, following us around. Read the rest of this entry »
NWN2: Retrieving the Silver Shard
When we last left off, we had just entered the catacomb ruins. So we made our way through the catacombs, killing some Lizardlings along the way, until we got to the room at the end. In it we find a group of Lizardlings having a party. After some diplomacy, we suckered them into giving us the shard. The 4th screenshot shows my buddy, Loki Einherjar, looking as evil as ever (pssh, and he got pissed when I “accidentally” slit an innocent guy’s throat) just before he takes the shard.
We then made our way back to West Harbor, where Daeghun explains that there is another pairing shard, which his half-brother Duncan in Neverwinter has. So what do we have to do? Duh, go find Duncan and get the other shard. Before we leave, we are told to say our good-byes. Loki the Rogue interprets this as pickpocketing the whole village. His best prize was a shortsword, not bad.

GLOG 01-01: Neverwinter Nights 2
The game begins with some Harvest Fair, which is pretty much just a tutorial. The following screenshot sums it up.

Apparently, some creatures have started attacking the village..
I, Dan the Enhance, and my companions go outside to find some Gray Dwarfs attacking. We kill them and Georg tells us of the situation, and asks us to gather the militiamen who were scattered around the village. Along the way, we see Tarmas fighting another mage. Amie thinks she’s liek all pro and stuff, and steps into the battle, despite Tarmas’ warning. She gets pwned big time, and dies. The enemy mage mumbles something about “it” not being here, and runs off. Not stopping to grieve for Amie, Bevil and I move on. In battle, there is no time to grieve. Kidding, I just don’t give a crap. I’ve known her for what, 5 minutes?
Anyway, we gathered the militiamen at the Starling Farm, where we made our stand. Read the rest of this entry »
